How to paint a metal bed days being bright white eco-friendly?

I have a metal bed bright white day, a very kind People find in some stores. I would like to give an antique look, dark. My first idea was to use paint spray that I bought in dark bronze and dark green. But later I learned about lead in paint and I did wonder it is possible to use a non-hazardous material and what techniques to use. I would appreciate information and suggestions. Thank you!

Sherwin Williams manufactures a product called Metal 0 VOC acrylic. This is an industrial product used for the metal. VOC 0 product means that has not volitile organic compounds (or what makes it bad for the environment and typically gives a smell). The product can be costly for retail Sherwin Williams but will often give you a discount contractor if you ask. If your heart is set on the spraying of bank stocks as fillable spray can that you can add the product and spray it. I recommend using a roll of high density foam Mini.
