What would you wear over a plaid shirt in winter?

I love wearing plaid shirts in the summer and I just got caught another and I do not want to wait until next summer before I can wear it, so my question is what could / would you wear on it in winter? Or look a little strange? Thank you. And I love shirts that have a hood so if anyone knows of any places not good enough premium for one that would be great.

I would wear a vest (one of winter jackets, with a fur cap) over the shirt and checkered a pair of skinny jeans with boots. Who makes equipment for winter!
