I have a question about materials eyeglass lenses, see details.?

Before they have Transitions lenses, they a kind of lens glasses that have changed color but they were made of glass (not plastic), it can still receive them? The reason why I prefer glass lenses is where I work, we have a lot of abrasive grains that absolutely trashes plastic lenses. The so-called Anti-scratch coatings are unnecessary. I can also clean the glass with some glass "rather rude" solvent when they get the spray paint, putty, mastic, tar and other stuff on them that you can not do with plastic lenses. I even cleaned with 0000-steel wool quality when they alkoxysilane compounds on them! The weight of glass vs. plastic is not a problem as my perscription is not very strong. Sorry for the long story, just wanted to give you all the info.

All Transitions lenses are plastic or polycarbonate. Glass lenses are called Gray Photo or Photo Brown Extra Extra. They also called Photo Gray lens thin and dark. Visit Corning and see. Your doctor's office should be able to order it for you!
