How to adjust the spring hinges on a door?

I have spring hinges, adjustable to my door so I can put make the door close faster or slower. But I do not know how to adapt to the narrow gate, because it is slower slam loudly. He came with key but when I went to turn to the right, it tightens and the door slams hard. And when I try to turn left move it doesn't. How Can I pay into the door slamming HELP!

There should be a series of holes on the pin. In one of them should be a metal pin. This is what holds the spring hinge in place. Use the Allen wrench to turn right and remove the pin. Then, allow the hinge to retract the left and insert the pin. Continue this process until you put where you want. Hope this helps.
