What does spring hinges in the frames of glasses?

Does this mean that the temples of the glasses frame can bend outward? Spring hinges opposed to what? Thank you.

It means that the legs where they attach to the frame is more flexible than the hinges more traditional. Thus, you can bend the legs slightly to accommodate your ears and on the side of your head. They make a more comfortable fit. x
