What paint can I use to paint kitchen cabinets black, black but not shiny?

I want to paint my kitchen cabinets black (they are ugly 70s dark), but I do not want a shiny black. I looked at the milk paint, but I fear that it will not work well because of the existing finish. I know that most painters recommend oil-based enamel, because it cleans easily, but not finishing, I'm looking for. All suggestions for painting the cabinets and getting a matte finish that will still hold up to wear and a kitchen? Thank you

use a flat interior paint finish if you want to be dull, but it will not be as easy to clean as a semi-gloss or eggshell Finish. Dish is easier to touch up though, if the doors are starting to look too dirty later.
