Which parts of the plastic roof fixed in another reason to keep rain from rushing off metal roofs?

I seen several companies that use them, but I can not find what they are called or who even sells them. It was difficult to find where to get this simple idea that I think someone would have marketed. A restaurant can use it on their metal roof to protect from rain and the rush of snow on a sidewalk along a roofline. They do not look like they are expensive. I just try to find or at least what calls.
