jewelery makers: Can I re-finish my eyeglass frames metal?

I have an older set of frames, but I just received from new updated prescription lenses put in a few months ago. The arrival of the metal begins to wear off, and sometimes the bottom of the frames touch my cheeks and leave traces of green on them! * Lol * I really do not want to pay to have asked a few places and sunglasses or they do not really answer if it's possible to refinish, or I said it used to be fairly common, but now they not know someone who does more. Another example of our throwaway society, I suppose! Or a way to force us to pay for new frames each time. In short, I wonder if there is a way I can make myself so that the exposed metal does not leave any marks on my cheeks. Thank you! Linda

Hi Linda, To solve the problem of managers leaving marks on the skin, clear nail polish will work fine. If you're like me, you'll want I think I tried on something that is crucial if it does not work. If you have an old pair you do not care you could give it a try.
