Why Hurricane Katrina was more devastating than Betsy and Camille handset?

Between Camille (1969) and Katrina Presidencies (2005), he had both Democratic and Republican. Floods Katrina was about the same amount flooding in combined Betsy and Camille, and houses and commercial buildings that have remained in place in areas flooded more lives saved than lost, because these buildings have survived the winds and storm surges.

If I remember Betsy and Camille was lower wind speed. When Betsy landed there was less flooding in New Orleans because the levees were not breached. The first area was flooded by Betsy St. Bernard Parish. I do not think Betsy winds extended as far as Mississippi and Alabama as Katrina did. I think Betsy land fall was more west of Katrina. It is important to all of us who know the area well. I think this site will be back up this idea: http://www.hurricanecity.com/betsy.htm You'll notice that the wind speed in the west were higher in New Orleans as the Big Island and Morgan City than New Orleans. If I remember the eyes of Betsy was much greater than Katrina. It was also unclear, this means that the wind speed eyewall were lower in Betsy. There were certainly fewer existing homes when Betsy came ashore when Katrina did. The development along the Mississippi coast, New Orleans East and St. Bernard Parish is much larger before Katrina. Most homes in New Orleans that are credited to Hurricane Katrina destroyed as are in this category because of flooding after the Levee Breaks. In the absence of most of these floods homes would simply find today. The house where I grew up was on higher ground near the Mississippi River. It existed before Betsy and it is still there today. People are still living in it.
