If I get the strength of glasses to correct my eyes, will I get 20/20 vision?

I just had my eyes tested today and purchased glasses right away using the prescription. I usually just wear lenses. I am disappointed my vision is not as clear as it is with contact lenses of the same strength right eye -3.50, -4.0 left eye. If the prescription for my glasses differ from the prescription for my lenses? I had hoped for crystal clear vision, but can not read the text on the TV Away 12 feet very clearly. I spent 300 pounds on these glasses and do not see as clearly as I expected – EEK! Is this expected?

Several questions. If you get 20/20 with your contacts, you should be able to obtain at least the same with glasses. (there are rare exceptions to this … mainly involving Rigid gas permeable contacts) Not everyone can get 20/20, even with the best contacts or glasses, for a variety of reasons. If the contacts are -3.50, -4.50, I expect the show to be equivalent Rx slightly stronger. (only 0.25, 0.50 or less) right is not cons eye, they are not as effective (the reverse is true for a + ve Rx) Another possibility is that if your lenses * * are not enough well. They can cause a reaction in your conrneas, so when you take your contacts off, eyes are a form uncertain, so the glasses Rx is a poor match, temporarily. This used to be more frequent with older Lenes transmission with low oxygen, but still. If the vision with glasses preferably first thing in the morning when you wake up, what you may have is a contact lens * * problem. The other possibility is the setting the frames or lenses in the frame is off. optical centers, fishing, bow, vertex distance … This is your supplier to check and adjust. Optometrist, retired.
