How can I make black transparent in After Effects?

I made an animation and a background in Photoshop. Even if I used a transparent background when I import it to AC and it turns black. How can I make a transparent layers behind it so do not be blocked? help!

The best way to keep the quality and transparency of the original animation, is to make a sequence of images, and import this sequence in AFX. Steps: 1 – File -> Export -> Render VIDEO 2 – Select image sequence ". Photoshop to select the output format 3 – Set the number of images you want to make 4 – Adjust the alpha chain of "straight line – without a mat." Important! 5 – Set the name and the folder before you click "Render". That's it. Now, the import into AFX – Select the first file (0001) and make sure tick " Sequence ". Psd works best here: you choose to import in May as sequences or as a composition, retaining all layer effects, if you wish. This table does more processing, however. If the background still looks black because the default background color is set to black in the preview window. Toggle transparency by clicking on the button to toggle transparency below the view model (the small button with a checkerboard pattern).
