How can you resize / reshape plastic glasses?

I hate going to the optometrist and asking them to resize or remodel my glasses when they altered the form. Also every time I buy the plastic (I think), acetate glasses sun at the store, it would be nice to make some minor adjustments to meet the better. Anyone knows? I think they heat them up but do not know how or with what … Help … Thank you

Eyeglasses have been redefined for many years using the hot salt. Optometrists normally use this method themselves. Pour a box in a saucepan and heat slowly. It will not melt. Here is the hard part, to find how to hold the glasses parked in the position they need while you pour the hot salt on them and let it cool. I pounded Strategic nails into a plank to hold the glasses when I want, built a wall around them a sheet of tin, then salt poured in. Make sure to have enough salt to completely cover the glasses, salt is cheap. I can not say whether or not your glasses can withstand the heat, but I used this method several times to shake many types of sunglasses for my temples with only the best. Takes a little work, but saves money. Especially if the glasses are sunglasses cheap. Mine are usually. The salt is very hot, be careful.
